VILLAKU

In Every Tamil home the sacred oil Lamp is lit daily as a symbol of the radiance of God's presence in our lives.

Light is love
Light is truth
Light is God
Light dispels ignorance
Light expels fears
Extinguish Light and you extinguish all life.
When we accept Lord Siva as our Saviour
We light up our hearts and our faces radiate with divinity.
Light up your heart and you light up the whole world
Contributing to a world of Love and Peace

What is the use of eyes is there is no Light?
There is beauty without light?

From time immemorial man worshipped the prime source of Light - the Sun, Sol, Surian, Ra, ect.

From South Indian Scriptures:
"The most magnetic of all religious symbols is Light that radiates everywhere, within and without  - the light that never was on land or sea.

From other Religions:
Great mystics have seen the Peerless One in the form of Light.  Moses saw the burning bush when he recieved the word of God.
The Upanishad seers saw it as Jothi Ahem - The Splendour in the Self.

In Many a Thevaram and Thiruvacagam verses and the lyrics of Tayumanavar and Ramaling Swamigal there are references to light as the symbol of the formless GOd and the radiance of Wisdom.

Gleaming as the earth and all the spheres,
Oh! Thou expanse of matchless effulgence!
In radiant forms of Light art Thou beheld.
Oh! Formless One
